The fairy houses that are the newest addition to my creations are made from gourds that I grew 2 years ago. Some are the natural color of the gourd, others are coated with ink dyes. The wainscot foundations are made of small Riverstone. They are mortared into place and all surfaces are coated with an exterior spar varnish. These small whimsical houses have doors that open with handmade hinges, and are embellished with copper Vines. I purposely left the back portion of the house without an opening, but if one were added using a step bit a whole could be made up to an 1″5/8. The opening could be used as an entryway for a house wren if the house were placed on a porch. It could also be a place to add lighting. Let your imagination work and allow the magic to begin. Your fellow traveler through the world of Whimsy.
